At the meeting, VCE introduced its Vblock technology, which utilizes virtualization and cloud computing. Vblock can greatly benefit networks such as NgREN because its portfolio is built on a secure, standard infrastructure, representatives said. The technology provides a central location for resources, services, and storage that all members of the network can access. For NgREN, Vblock technology could reduce the cost and maintenance of the network while providing consistent network management. VCE representatives also referred to data that showed potential reduced deployment time and downtime for NgREN’s data center through Vblock systems.
At the end of the presentation, VCE representatives fielded questions. NgREN leaders then decided that VCE could send a formal request for more information and determine how to proceed with further discussions.
